I woke up to another Twitteriffic morning. It wasn’t a month ago that I thought Twitter was a useless waste of time. Now I find it to be just as important to my daily activities as IM, email and Clearspace. I’ve made some very interesting and valuable connections through it. It gives me a certain sense of connection to the community. I love how brain-dead simple it is. That little 140 character box has forced me to become much more succinct and focused. Alas, it’s another giant time-sink that I find can be distracting. Like anything else, sometimes you just need to turn it off.

@pasquale, So do I and I haven’t updated in over a year.  So that’s not saying much.

Ya… about 2 weeks ago I noticed a deluge of followers… out of the normal pattern.

I think it’s cause of the new Twitter search sites that have popped up where people are typing in things like “social media”, “golf”,(those are how people found me anyway) etc… and following everyone who either Tweeted about those words… or has those words in their bio.

Also, seen a ton of spammy accounts overtly pushing biz ops and other businesses just following anyone and everyone they can find.

The beauty is that these people can follow me all they want… but they better be a real person and not pushing shit to me… or the follow won’t be reciprocated.

Hey, that’s my 2 cents… for what it’s worth wink

I haven’t had much issue with spam account but @joleine certainly has. I think she is currently being followed by @newseason’s or something.

Ok I am still at the point where I think Twitter is useless junk but I will not go and sign up and see what the noise is all about !
